With winter fast approaching, migrants who were sleeping outside a Chicago police station now have warm, safe housing in Oak Park.

As of Tuesday, November 7, about 100 migrants have been moved into two locations in our community.

A community effort with the Village of Oak Park led to migrants being taken in at Good Shepherd Lutheran last week, where volunteers provided shelter, food, clothing and love.

In addition,  for the past several months, St. Catherine-St. Lucy’s at 38 N. Austin Boulevard has been providing clothing, food, showers and more.
