Thank You, Dr. Keiki Hinami, for Joining Our Coalition Meeting
This Thursday, we were grateful to have Dr. Keiki Hinami, Medical Director at the Rise Center and Director of Applied Research at Cook County Health, join our coalition meeting. Dr. Hinami shared important findings from the “Transition of Homelessness and a Self-Directed Future” report, which focuses on young adults in the Flexible Housing Pool (FHP).
The FHP supports individuals and families in Chicago and suburban Cook County who are at high risk of homelessness by providing permanent supportive housing. Dr. Hinami’s presentation highlighted how stable housing can significantly improve physical, mental, and behavioral health.
The report also offers key policy recommendations to strengthen these programs and better support those in need.
